Activity involving children locating places they may have visited on the UK coast, discussion of what they have seen and close observation of a seaside object – download
Resources: UK map, Sea shells, ‘Coast’ slide file (PPt), question mapping file (XML), Google Maps
For use with: Visualiser, Audience Response System
The visualiser is brilliant for showing things like maps where we can zoom in on points of interest & record notes directly on the paper, then being able to switch to the desktop. I found the children really got into Google maps especially with the streetview when they recognised a place they had been to – just the job when you are studying the coast from the Midlands!
The quality of the image on my GV8100 really encouraged the children to look closely at their sea shells & were keen to show their drawings on the visualiser.
